Farmville Teams up
With 7-Eleven |
This is the craziest thing I've heard of, in a long time! The hottest game on Facebook, Farmville, created by Zynga, has literally teamed up with the
General Mills brand, Green Giant, as well as
7-Eleven! Don't believe it? Well, it's true. When you buy 'Green Giant Fresh' products, you get a $5 Farmville cash code, redeemable at
TheGiant.com &
BuyEarnPlay.com. (Of course, for those of you who don't know, you do need a facebook account as well as the application installed to redeem the Farmville cash, and no, you can not use the code for Facebook credits or anything other than Farmville currency.) Can you believe, this promotion began in May 2010, and no one told us about it! Well, at least, no one told me. Oh! Just so you know, you can only use each Farmville code 1 time, and then it's a wrap.

Farmville Teams up
With Green Giant |
It is my understanding, after reading the 7-Ele
ven promotion press release on VentureBeat.com, that, Zynga, pairing with a physical retailer is trying to adopt the marketing technique such as EA games, Sports games, but in a more casual sort of way. But as for the team of Zynga and Green Giant, well the resident of 'Green Giant Fresh', Jamie Strachan, states: "We are influencing shopping behavior, by giving customers an enticing new reason to visit participating retail stor
es." So, clearly this all just a new marketing tactic, to get their hands in your wallet. But, at least YOU get something out of this for a change, besides your greenbacks "out of your pocket".
